MLM Prospecting Tips: Finding the Truly Interested who will Take Action

When prospects are looking at any business opportunity, they will assess it based upon what they feel comfortable with and with which company they have the best chance at success.

Any MLM business will first start by looking for prospects. Building a downline can only happen when you have identified prospects. The question is how will you identify these prospects? There are many different ways to do this such as buying a phone list of business opportunity seekers, asking family and friends to join the business, or to talk with people at places you regularly visit such as a coffee shop. These are often methods that are not highly effective in building interested prospects.

The approach that can work very effectively for you is attraction marketing. This is simply a type of marketing where you work on attracting prospects to your website. You do not have to worry about selling but rather about getting people to visit your website and to give them information so they will buy from you. It is very important with attraction marketing that you have a deep well of knowledge about your product and industry. When people come to your website or to you, it is important that you are able to provide the information they are looking for. This can start building a bond so that they will eventually buy from you.

Attraction marketing is the simplest method of marketing you can do with your MLM business. It is not a quick solution to building a business but sets you up with the ability to consistently bring in new prospects and customers by following these same steps on a regular basis. With your knowledge, you are working on solving your customers’ problems. Instead of being a pushy salesman, you position yourself as a trusted advisor to your customers. They will welcome your advice when you portray this message both in words and in action.

One of the best MLM prospecting tips is that you must be the face of the business. People often will not sign up for a business without having an idea that someone can help them. This is where you need to put yourself forward as a good resource for anyone who may want to join your downline. When you are doing attraction marketing, one way to leverage this powerful resource is to combine it with social networking. This is the way business has begun to move both currently and into the future. It is a way to interact with your customers. People are not happy with simply reading websites for information. They want to be able to interact with business persons and with products and services. With social networking, you interact with your customers in different ways on the Internet. You can post regularly to forums your customers visit. You can keep a blog that you regularly post on. Follow up on comments by your readers. Post on your customers’ blogs. Offer a free webinar to explain a solution to common customers’ problems.

These are two very important prospecting tips for your MLM business. The business becomes easiest when you work on bringing the people to you. This shows their interest in what you have to offer. It is then your job to understand what they are looking for and to provide it. You can do all this through social networking and be sure to use different ways to interact with them. This can ensure that your MLM business has a great deal of success.

Why Affiliate Marketers Require a Website to Be Successful

Both Alec and Remon are fond of baking. Cheese cakes, butter cookies, pumpkin pies, banana rolls, muffins with raisins, you name it. So they make baking and selling cakes their job.

Every morning, they spend hours producing all sorts of delicacies and sell them in the afternoon.

Alec puts his cakes in a big basket, attaches it to the back of his bicycle. He rides about the town, shouting out loudly as he passes the street lined with mansions and houses. On hearing the sound of the bell, customers young and old would come out of their home to see what Alec has to offer that day, and purchase whatever they’d like for tea or supper.

Remon does the same.

True, Alec and Remon are competint in the same trade, but there is enough business for both of them. Alec is happy until one day…

Around the corner of the main street, he finds a new cake shop has opened. The sign says:

Remon’s Cake Shop.

Alec’s business drops and so does his income.

He comes to realize one thing: if he is to remain an equal to his competitor Remon, he’d have to own a shop too!

Back to internet marketing, a website in online marketing is the same as a shop in offline marketing.

Many people would start affiliate marketing without a website. This is possible as most program owners do not require affiliates to have a website to join. However, in the long run, owning a website certainly puts you in a different position and can take your business to another level.

There are several benefits that a website can bring to an affiliate marketer.

1. A website provides you with an address at which people can contact you, so builds trust and a sense of reliability.

2. A website gives you a platform to display your products and services. Potential customers will know exactly what are being offered and may come back for something they want in future.

3. A website offers you the chance to provide additional information about the products you are advertising. In other words, it is a good place to pre-sell to the clients.

4. A website allows you to ‘brand’ yourself and gives you autonomy over what to sell.

You might change from program to program and from product to product, the URL you advertise will remain the same. You won’t be affected by companies that withdraw their affiliate programs or even close down.

When I first started as an affiliate marketer, I had a negative experience. I invested $40 in an affiliate program which allowed me to sell the same program to someone and earn the same $40 for unlimited times. Anyone who is more experienced in internet marketing would think that this cannot be true. Well, not me.

I paid the $40, was given a code and a promotional link. After a couple of weeks, not only was I unable to make one sale, when I logged in to my account, guess what I saw? Not a trace of the program that I had joined! In its place was a completely different page. This guy had decided he had scammed enough money with this trick and changed to another. I even was not aware for how long I had been promoting this new webpage for him for free!

5. Owning a website is more economical in advertising, in terms of both time and money. Instead of promoting a lot of affiliate sites, you’re driving traffic to only one site – your personal website.

Without doubt, building a website takes skills and money. The ideal case of course is start without a site, earn enough money from free affiliate programs, then invest the earned money in building and hosting your own website.

For those who are serious about building a business online and have money to spare, starting with a website is a good idea. And if you lack the skill, then building a personal blog can achieve more or less the same targets but takes less skill to accomplish.

How To Use Twitter For Your Business

HOW TO USE TWITTER FOR YOUR BUSINESS

This article will briefly describe what Twitter is, and how to use it. The remainder of the article is geared towards the Twitter user who is looking to network or promote their business. Twitter can be an incredibly powerful free internet marketing tool if you use it properly.

WHAT IS TWITTER

Twitter is a “micro blogging” site. Essentially you use it as you would a blog, however, Twitter limits you to 140 characters whenever you write something. When you post something on Twitter, it’s called a “tweet”. In Twitter you will have people “following” you (people who will have your tweets appear on their Twitter home page), and you will “follow” people (you will see their tweets appear on your Twitter homepage). You can follow anyone you like. This could be friends or family, or it could be a celebrity or idol of yours. I’ve found that there are actually a lot of celebrities, authors, musicians etc on Twitter, and it can be kind of cool to see what they Tweet about.

You can tweet about whatever you like. If you’re only connecting with friends and family, you can simply update people about what you’re doing at the moment, or you can post links to cool videos or any other interesting information you want to share with people. I would highly recommend not over-tweeting, i.e. updating people every ten minutes on what you’re doing. This can be very annoying to people who are following you, because then their entire home page is taken up by your Tweets, and it’s hard to follow what other people are doing. If you’re using Twitter to network and grow your business, the following sections are dedicated to you.

HOW TO USE TWITTER

If you haven’t already, sign up for an account at twitter.com. Once you’re in, go to your “settings” tab and enter your information. I would definitely recommend adding a personal photo of yourself to help people identify you. You can also spice up your home page by changing the background. Twitter has some decent backgrounds that are easy to use, but you can also use custom images as your background. If you want to do so, click “change background image”, then “browse”, and you can choose any image off your computer. Google “twitter backgrounds” and you’ll get tons of results for cool backgrounds you can use for Twitter.

OPTIMIZING TWITTER FOR YOUR BUSINESS

The following sections are dedicated to those looking to network and promote their businesses.

OPTIMIZING YOUR PROFILE

You want to make your profile memorable and eye-catching to people, otherwise they’re just going to pass you by and forget you. If you’re marketing your business, it’s 100% necessary you get a profile picture up there. The default Twitter profile picture is completely boring and forgettable, and it just doesn’t bring anything to the table. Ideally, have a nice picture of yourself for people to see. I would also suggest getting a custom background image as I did before. Simply google “twitter backgrounds” and you’ll get a ton of different sites with some great background images. It not only makes your profile look interesting and unique, but it makes it look like you’re a serious Twitter user. Additionally, it acts as a point to strike up conversation with strangers (i.e. prospects for your business). I get comments about my background frequently from people who are following me.

Add a link to your webpage of course in the “web” section of your profile. Also, I would recommend not adding a generic bio like “I’m an internet marketer etc…”. First, it makes it look like the only reason you’re on Twitter is to sell people. Second, putting up other information acts as a conversation starter with strangers. As soon as I changed my bio from something generic I had people commenting on my interests and asking questions about them.

OPTIMIZING YOUR TWEETS

As stated above, you don’t want to be tweeting every ten minutes about something. Even if it’s useful stuff it can get irritation for people following you. I can’t give any exact number on this, but try to make a few interesting tweets a day. Don’t just say stuff like “I’m going to take a walk” or something, try to put useful or interesting information out there. One, it will get people interested in you, and two, it won’t look like all you’re trying to do is sell people. You’re limited to 140 characters per post, so it really is not difficult to make an interesting tweet. Link to a cool youtube video or to an interesting news story. If you’re in marketing, link to some great marketing advice. Do not constantly self-promote, it will just turn people off. Maybe make one tweet a day sending people to your site, but reserve the rest for other subjects.

The conclusion of this articles describes in detail how to get hundreds of potential prospects a day on Twitter. You can read the conclusion of “How To Use Twitter For Your Business” on my blog at mossopblog.com. Also check out my blog archives for more great internet marketing advice.
